This image was captured in the Spring of 2018 on a NSW north coast wetland. The intense blue is created by the blue sky above reflecting directly off a thin biofilm on the surface of the water. The dark long lines are caused by grazing cattle and swans that cut through the film as they head out into the wetland to graze. The film breaks and is slow to close back up making the trails visible.
